This is going to be quick because our internet is out and I'm at the supermarket with a battery that is going to die soon.
There isn't a great deal to tell this week anyway. There was performance last night that marked the end of the Georgian ballet season. I wasn't involved because all the pieces were the ones being performed at Jacobs Pillow. I just had to come on at the end to take a bow. Pretty much sums up my time here; brought on at the end to fill the gap and take a bow.
Afterwards, there was a party to celebrate. It was quite a good night with everyone out on the dance floor having a good boggy. The music was average, but bearable, the food was very Georgian and everyone turned out in their finest. It's a shame that I didn't take my camera. That's the only problem with my beast. If you go anywhere it's like taking a brick with you. Towards the end of the evening Nina made an announcement saying thanking everyone for the season, the dignitaries for coming and then wound it up by announcing that I was leaving!!!! She thanked me for the work I had done with them, said that I would be missed and am welcome back if I want to return. (Great, now I feel all guilty.) Afterwards, everyone was coming up to me and asking me why I was leaving and where I was going. (Not helping!!) It was nice to know that I would me at least initially missed, but I must move on. To what and to where, I don't really know yet. I'll just take it one step at a time.
On to more exciting things, we leave for America tonight so I've spent most of the day cleaning, packing and general organizing. I'm debating whether I should take my big bag or just wing it with carry-on luggage. I'll probably take my bag anyway, just in case.
I've got a good list of things to do while in Charleston. I want to go to the cinema (for the first time in over a year) hit the beach, watch England v America in a bar and maybe some shopping.
I'm probably not going to get much sleep because I'm only there for five nights and have so much to do!
Anyway, I promise to bring back lots of photos so next week's email should be a good one.
See you next week,
Rodney Cuthbertson
